These 10 screen prints are the main part of my final bachelor project at the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen, 2014. Following my stay in Cuba, in January 2014, I decided to show, through a series of silk screen prints, the personal stories – lived and heard – collected during this period.

These designs find their roots in these personal, often ‘small’ stories of ordinary absurdity. They are meant to intrigue and stimulate to look further for a probable explanation. You can find the story behind each picture by clicking on it. It is like reading my personal diary and sharing with me what I experienced when I was in Cuba.

The frame, the format and the technique in my designs are those of the Cuban poster art. I’m grateful to the Cuban artists and technicians who took the time and trouble to teach me their craft. Through their work I learned to deeply appreciate the passion and skills behind the images they print. This technique brings the design to life.
